Time frames for restoring deleted projects and related TM

Introduction

Sometimes you might unintentionally delete a project and its project-related TM from the XTM Cloud UI. A likely cause is that you use the Delete project and project TM option for the wrong project (selected from the project’s context menu: Projects → Project list → Simple search → project’s context menu → Actions → Delete project and project TM).

In this case, it is possible to restore both the deleted project and its TM. Only the XTM International Support team can do this. However, there are some restrictions on that.

Specifics

Restoring a deleted project

A project that has been deleted in XTM Cloud can only be restored in the UI within 7 days after the project was deleted. Once 7 days have passed, the project files are removed from the server permanently and the project in question can no longer be restored.

Though this time limit can vary from server to server, it is usually 7 days. Contact the XTM International Support team to find out this time limit on your XTM Cloud instance.

IMPORTANT!

Note the distinction between deleted and archived projects: the process for restoring them on the back-end side of your XTM Cloud instance is completely different.

To learn more about activating archived projects, see this article: Project activation – most common issues & troubleshooting.

To arrange for XTM Cloud projects to be restored, create a Support ticket and send a list containing their names to XTM International Support team.

Restoring deleted Translation memory (TM)

In contrast to XTM Cloud projects, TM can be restored even after 7 days, as it is stored in the XTM Cloud database, not as a part of project files. To arrange for deleted TM to be restored, create a Support ticket and send a list containing the names of the XTM Cloud projects whose TM has been deleted to XTM International Support team.
