Edit a credit note
Introduction
After you have issued a credit note for an invoice (for details, see the Add a credit note guide), you can edit it manually using one of the following scenarios.
To locate the required credit note, use the Invoice Type is filter.
Correct selected items in a credit note
You can change the value of a particular item in an invoice and have it reflected in task receivables.
Open the required credit note in edit mode.
Scroll down and select the Items tab.
Click the ‘Edit’ icon. The Corrective items popup will be displayed. You can make the required corrections in the New Values column by changing the Quantity, Unit, Rate, Discount / Surcharge, and Tax Rate fields.
Those changes will not affect task receivables.Click the Save button.
(Optional) Edit the receivables
Changes in receivables will be reflected in values calculated for tasks but will not affect the values of items. Items are part of an invoice, while tasks and receivables are parts of a project.
Ensure that the ‘Auto-Calculate Total Agreed’ checkbox in the ‘Receivables' tab is selected. Otherwise, changing values for receivables will not affect the Total Agreed value.
On the credit note page, select the Tasks tab.
Scroll down to the Receivables section.
Click the ‘Edit’ icon. The Task Receivable popup will be displayed.
In the New Values section, enter the required values.
For CAT receivables, you can correct the values for particular match types in the CAT grid.Click the Save button.
On the credit note page, check if the recalculated Task Values and Net Total are correct.
Click the Save button at the bottom of the credit note page.
Remove tasks from a credit note for further use
If you have mistakenly included a task on an invoice, you need to unlock it so it can be added to a different invoice. However, if you have issued a credit note for this invoice, you must first remove the task from the credit note.
Remove a task without changing receivables
Open the required credit note in edit mode.
Scroll down and select the Tasks tab.
Click the ‘Remove’ icon in the required task line. The task will be marked with a strikethrough.
Click the Save button. The task will be automatically removed from the original invoice and ready to be invoiced again.
Remove a task and change receivables
Remove one or several tasks as described above.
Open the project linked to the task and edit receivables there.
