Introduction

Sometimes, in some XTM projects, the Update button in Project editor → General info → General info → Target languages does not appear next to the project target languages, making it impossible to add or delete languages from a particular project.

At first, you might think the root cause lies in a specific XTM customer, project template, or filter template you have chosen. However, this is not the case.

Root cause

The root cause in this case is file joining enabled at the stage of creating the said XTM project in the XTM Cloud UI, regardless of the type of joining applied. This is an expected behavior that in such projects it is not possible to add or delete target languages.
