Introduction

After you have issued a credit note for an invoice (for details, see the Add a credit note guide), you can edit it manually using one of the following scenarios.

Correct selected items in a credit note

You can change the value of a particular item value in an invoice , and have it reflected in task receivables.

  1. Open the required credit note in edit mode.

  2. Scroll down and select the Items tab.

  4. Click the (blue star) ‘Edit’ icon. The Corrective items popup will be displayed.

Correct selected item rates

  1. In You can make the required corrections in the New Values column , enter the required values.by changing the Quantity, Unit, Rate, Discount / Surcharge, and Tax Rate fields.
    (blue star) Those changes will not affect task receivables.

  2. Click the Save button.

Changes in receivables will be reflected in values calculated for tasks

but will not affect the values of items. Items are part of an invoice, while tasks and receivables are parts of a project.

⚠️

Ensure that the ‘Auto-Calculate Total Agreed’ checkbox in the ‘Receivables' tab is selected. Otherwise, changing values for receivables will not affect the Total Agreed value.

  1. Select

    On the credit note page, select the Tasks tab.

  2. Scroll down to the Receivables section.

  3. Click the (blue star) ‘Edit’ icon. The Task Receivable popup will be displayed.

  4. In the New Values section, enter the required values.
    (info) For CAT receivables, you can correct the values for particular match types in the CAT grid.

  5. Click the Save button.

  6. On the credit note page, check if the recalculated Task Values and Net Total are correct.

  7. Click the Save button at the bottom of the credit note page.

Change unit count and tax rates

  1. Open the required credit note in edit mode.

  2. Scroll down and select the Items tab.

  3. Click the (blue star) ‘Edit’ icon. The Corrective items popup will be displayed.

The unit and tax changes (as well as quantity, rate and discount / surcharge) are only available for manual edit for individual Invoice Items, and changes don’t affect Task Receivables.

Remove tasks from a credit note for further use

If you have mistakenly included a task on an invoice, you need to unlock it so it can be added to a different invoice. However, if you have issued a credit note for this invoice, you need to must first remove the task from the credit note first.

Remove a task without changing receivables

  1. Open the required credit note in edit mode.

  2. Scroll down and select the Tasks tab.

  3. Click the (blue star) ‘Remove’ icon in the required task line. The task will be marked with a strikethrough.

  4. Click the Save button. The task will be automatically removed from the original invoice and ready to be invoiced again.

Remove a task and change receivables

Info

Remove tasks first, then change receivables. If you make changes in receivables before unlocking tasks, all the changes made in receivables will be discarded.

  1. Remove one or several tasks as described above.

  2. Open the project linked to the task and edit receivables there.
