Excel365: Size restriction for a spreadsheet that is sent for translation in XTM Cloud

The Excel files that can be sent to XTM Cloud within a single XTM project cannot exceed 5MB. This includes all the metadata added by XTM Connect when a project is created.
If this size is exceeded, an error message is displayed. We recommend that you then split the Excel content, put it in separate Excel spreadsheets and send them for translation one by one. |

As the popup message in Excel shows, the spreadsheet involved is too large. This does not necessarily mean that the connector is trying to send the whole spreadsheet for translation. The main issue is the actual size of the spreadsheet or column itself.
For this reason, the error message above might be displayed because, for instance, you inserted a text string in around the millionth row and then attempted to send it to XTM Cloud for translation. If so, the XTM Connect – Excel365 plugin might have run out of memory if it had to check over a million rows for the source content. This is why the error message recommends that you split the spreadsheet into smaller parts.
