SharePoint: Naming convention for SharePoint projects
Introduction
In SharePoint, XTM Cloud project names are generated in a particular way, via the XTM Connect – SharePoint plugin, depending on elements such as the project name prefix and connection profile name.
Specifics
Project prefix name
The first element is the Project name prefix. In the Connection profiles section of the SharePoint Administrator panel, the project name prefix in a particular connection profile is specified in the XTM project name prefix field. As you can see in the screenshot below, this field contains an asterisk *, meaning that it is mandatory.
Note that the entire project name in XTM Cloud cannot be longer than 100 characters, including the project name prefix.
Connection profile name
The second element is the Connection profile name. In the Connection profiles section of the SharePoint Administrator panel, the project name prefix in a particular connection profile is specified in the Connection profile name field. As you can see in the screenshot below, this field contains an asterisk *, meaning that it is mandatory.
Project name in XTM Cloud
Example: if the Project name prefix is SharePoint_ and the Connection profile name is Sajzik Profile, the project will be labeled as SharePoint_Sajzik Profile in XTM Cloud.
Furthermore, the name of every subsequent project created via XTM Connect – Microsoft SharePoint will contain an incremental number, e.g. _1, as a suffix, to differentiate projects that originated in SharePoint from one another:
