Kontent.ai: Two ways to enter the XTM Connector translation plugin

Introduction

There are two ways in which you can submit content from Kontent.ai for translation in XTM Cloud.

Use of a separate web application

Accessing the application

One way to submit content for translation in XTM Cloud is to use the separate web application. Go to the relevant URL, which depends on which connector server you are using for the integration:

When you select the relevant URL, a login page is displayed. In it, enter the Client name, User email and Password

IMPORTANT!

As you probably already know, you should log in with the credentials of the user that was previously created in the Users section, in the Kentico administrator panel.

Next, select a Kentico project from which you want to submit content for translation in XTM Cloud.

You are now in the main connector translation panel.

Add content group

In the Add content group section, select one or more content items, adjust project settings on the left-hand side and submit the content for translation in XTM Cloud. You can first add the content to the queue (Add to queue) or submit it for translation in XTM Cloud immediately (Send for translation).

Translation queue

In the Translation queue, you can view all your pending projects. The panel displays basic details of your projects, such as their name, source and target languages, status, requester, etc.

IMPORTANT!

Upon completion in XTM Cloud, content items are imported back to Kontent.ai automatically. If, however, there is a technical issue along the way, you have the option to import a particular content item manually by expanding the "three dots" icon on the right-hand side, and clicking the Import option.

Custom content element (iframe) embedded in the CMS

Accessing the iframe

To enable you to use the iframe when logging in to the application embedded in the CMS, and submit a particular content item for translation in XTM Cloud, directly at the level of that specific item, you must first define a custom content element that will serve as an embedded iframe for a particular content model.

In the Kontent.ai environment, go to PROJECT Content model. Select your content model. Next, add a Custom element to it.

Give it a suitable name, for example "XTM Translation Panel" or "XTM Connector". In the Hosted code URL (HTTPS) field, enter the URL to a relevant administrator panel, for instance: https://kontent-connector.xtm-intl.com/app/. To the Allow the custom element to read values of specific elements field, you can add every option available in the dropdown. You can leave the Parameters {JSON} field empty.

Now go to Content & assets and enter a particular content item or create a new one, using the created content model. You should see the Translation Panel inside of it. You will be able to log in to it.

Add content

You will see a new section called Add content. In it, you can a send a content item, that you are currently in, straight for translation in XTM Cloud. You also have the option to first add the content to the queue (Add to queue) or submit it for translation in XTM Cloud immediately (Send for translation).

The two remaining sections, Add content group and Translation queue, are exactly the same as described above for using a separate web application.
