Introduction

As an administrator, you can create advanced, customized filters by joining two or more segment filters together using and saving the combination as a segment filter profile. You can also save frequently used configurations of a single filter for convenient reuse.

Guidelines

  1. In XTM Cloud, as an administrator, go to Configuration → Settings → Translation → Segment filters, and click Add segment filter profile.

  1. You will see a pop-up window, as shown below.

  2. Fill in the field with Profile name.

  3. Choose a relevant option (AND / OR) in the Join filter using field (you can only choose one of them). This BOOLEAN option allows you to decide if:

  • all the selected filters have to apply, in order for a particular XTM Workbench segment to be displayed (AND);

  • at least one of the selected filters has to apply, in order for a particular XTM Workbench segment to be displayed (OR);

  1. Next, select your segment filters.

  2. At the end, click Save.

  1. If you created the segment filter profile correctly, you will see it in the section:

  1. While creating a new project in XTM Cloud, unless it is deactivated, you will be able to select a newly-created segment filter profile, in Translation → Segment filter profile.

  1. You can also apply the segment filter profile to any already existing project, in Project Editor → General info → General info → Segment filter profile. Additionally you can select the Enable linguist to turn the profile off option if you want to let your linguists decide whether or not they want to make use of this profile.

  1. Finally, you can apply the segment filter profile directly in XTM Workbench, any time you want. To do so, enter XTM Workbench for a particular job, expand the Filters dropdown and click Choose filters.

  1. Expand the Filter profiles section, select your filter, and click Apply.

(warning) IMPORTANT!

Segment filter profiles created by the administrator can be edited only by him. If you try to edit the administrator’s profile as a regular user/linguist, you will see the following message at the bottom of the window: This is an admin filter. Click “Save as new” to save your change as a new template filter.
