Guidelines

  1. To perform LQA, you need to be a Linguist with the LQA step assigned in the General info section of the user’s settings:

IMPORTANT!

This specific workflow step is only applicable to its corresponding step in a project workflow, labeled as LQA. The user does not need to be assigned with it if LQA is to be performed in any other CAT-tool step, such as Translate, Correct or Review.

  1. In Workflow editor (Project editor → WorkflowEdit workflow), make sure you apply one of the two options in the step in which LQA is to be performed:

  • Yes, save result in user record → apart from the possibility to add LQA errors in XTM Workbench, it also stores the LQA result in a particular user's profile;

  • No, don’t save result in user record → it only enables the adding of LQA errors in XTM Workbench.

  1. Assign the appropriate linguist to the step and enter XTM Workbench as this linguist in Edit mode.

  2. In XTM Workbench, choose a segment in which you would like to impose one or more LQA errors, go to the LQA panel at the bottom and click the Add error button:

  1. Choose a specific LQA error that you want to add, select its Severity type, Quantity and, finally, add the error to the segment. Then leave the LQA panel straight away by clicking on the Add error and Close button.

  1. Once LQA errors have been added, and the user stays in a particular segment, the errors are immediately displayed in the bottom XTM Workbench panel in the LQA tab, with all the details:

  1. To edit or remove LQA errors from the segment, hover over the last “empty" cell of the LQA error in question, and the two options will pop up:

  1. You can also filter out segments with LQA errors by selecting a dedicated segment filter in XTM Workbench (QA LQA errors):

  1. Depending on the type of LQA results you want to obtain, you can download two different types of LQA report from XTM Cloud:

  • Project/file context menu,

  • Project LQA section.

Good to know!

To see a detailed description of these two types of LQA report, we recommend that you read the following article: Two types of LQA report - description and use case.
