Questions and answers
Can QA check if segments are partially translated?
No QA rule or filter will flag segments that are partially translated. Even in partially translated segments, the only error that should always appear is a spelling error.
What is the difference between QA and LQA?
Localization Quality Assurance (LQA) involves verifying the precision of a translation, with regard to its cultural accuracy, linguistic phrasing, terminology, and so on. The evaluator and evaluee are involved in the LQA process, which is performed on a relevant workflow step. In XTM Workbench, the evaluator enters the errors found in a translation performed by the evaluee in a preceding step.
Quality Assurance (QA) is performed automatically when you set a segment to “Done” or select another segment. QA checks the text against predefined requirements set up in QA profiles. To do this, select Configuration → Settings → QA. The QA process does not involve any human actions.
Is it possible to run a QA check on an entire file or project at once?
Currently, you can only run the QA check per one file/job. To do so, select the Run QA check on document and show segments with warnings only option in XTM Workbench. If you want to run the QA check on an entire project, the project files need to be joined, as the QA check is run in XTM Workbench.
Is there any way to export a file that contains QA warnings, but not those that we have removed?
Currently, this is not possible. When you select the Remove QA markings in active segment option, in XTM Workbench, those QA markings will still be displayed in the Extended table that is generated afterwards. Any QA error will not be shown in the generated document if the corresponding target segment is corrected, in accordance with whatever the error message states, in XTM Workbench.
The Extended table mentioned above can be generated for a particular project. To do so, select Project editor → Files → Preview → (pick a file format: PDF/HTML/Excel )→ Extended table…. Make sure that you select the QA warnings option. If you only want to include segments with QA warnings in the report, select the Only include segments with QA warnings option.
