GoogleSheets Google Sheets is one of the worlds most known, dynamic spreadsheet applications. When used for translation needs, it pairs perfectly with Lang Connector by Locale for a quick, and efficient automated translation workflow. By using a simple translation format and workflow, it is easy to extract content for translation via your existing workflows, whether it is a TMS, MT engine, or dedicated human for translation.

What you will need to get started

  1. The Login link for Locale (https://app.locale.to/en/).

  2. The username and password for the Google Account which contains the GoogleSheet Google Sheet for translation.

    1. Note: If you do not possess the correct credentials to access this information, please contact your system administrator or support representative. Locale does not have access to this nor do we provide this information.

  3. User login information for both your Locale instance, and your GoogleSheets Google Sheets account.

    1. A trial account of Locale can also be taken for free by going to locale.to and selecting the “Get Started” button.

Creating a Locale project with the GoogleSheets Google Sheets Connector

Once you have followed the steps to Add the GoogleSheets Locale: Adding the Google Sheets Connector to your Locale instance, you are almost ready to create a project.

It is also important to understand the document formatting and language mapping that must be in place for Lang Connector and the Locale platform to be able to properly handle your request.   1. The first step is to choose the GoogleSheets Google Sheets page which contains your content for translation.

  1. Locale will begin by analyzing the content found in the GoogleSheet Google Sheet page, and show the number of words and segments required for translation.

  1. Once your content has been pushed for translation, it will automatically be placed back into the GoogleSheet Google Sheet under the appropriate target language columns, and the status in Locale will show Completed.
