This article provides answers to questions frequently asked by clients when they begin working with the Bridge connector.

Why was my project not created in XTM Cloud?
There might be a few reasons why the project did not arrive at your XTM instance. The first thing worth checking is the package itself if it was not moved to the “invalid” directory. In most cases, it might be related to the uploaded package' wrong folder structure or using the wrong language code.
The second reason is the situation when we are using a new language code which was not mapped previously in the connector configuration.
The third reason, which happens rarely, is the downtime of the connector instance.
Why was my project not retrieved on FTP?
If the project did not arrive to your FTP once it was completed, it is worth checking if the target files were properly generated (without any errors in the Files tab, in the XTM Cloud UI). Within the history of the target file generation we should be able to identify whether or not the target was properly generated by the connector user.
How can XTM Bridge determine target languages?
We have a few options to determine the place from which XTM Bridge should inherit the languages:
Hard-code one target language.
Determine the target languages through the language folder in the package structure, which requires uploading the source files via proper folders named by the language code.
Determine the language by the file name in which we can include the language code.
Why are not all files being passed to XTM Cloud?
It is possible that the connector was configured to pass only specific file extensions for translation in XTM Cloud, and it basically omits any other file formats.
Why cannot I connect to FTP, to upload the package?
In the vast majority of cases, this happens when one of the IPs that you are using has not been whitelisted. In some cases, what is whitelisted is the IP of the VPN that our clients are using; therefore, without the connection to the company VPN while working remotely, the connection to FTP cannot be established. In this case, we can add the currently used IP to the whitelist via a support ticket, or try connecting via VPN that we are using on a daily basis.
Why was my package moved to the “Invalid” directory?
When the package is moved to the invalid directory, it means that the connector is working since it processed new files. However, for some reason, XTM Bridge was not able to create a project from the respective package. Most probably, this has happened due to the reasons pointed out in the first question of this section.
Why do the files disappear from the “import” directory on FTP?
If the files disappeared from the “import” directory, this indicates that the connector processed the files. They can be moved to the directory that stores ongoing projects, by default named as “created”, or to the “invalid” directory if the uploaded package will not result in creating a project. Refer to this question.
Can I use different Templates while creating projects via XTM Bridge?
Yes, if you are not using one hard-coded template, we can set your connector to inherit the project templates from the folder structure of the package uploaded to FTP; for example, Template_ID/Project_name/Files

Can I use different XTM customers while creating a project via Bridge?
XTM Bridge allows using different XTM customers, determined by the folder with the Customer name or ID in the folder structure.
Can I add reference files to the projects using XTM Bridge?
We can set XTM Bridge to upload reference files to the project as well. In this case, we need to determine the exact folder name where XTM Bridge should be looking out for the files that have to be added as references into the XTM Project.
Can I upload the ZIP package via XTM Bridge?
XTM Bridge allows uploading the translation files in the .zip format. However, in this case we need to determine how the connector should behave if the .zip is being uploaded. We can upload the ZIP file which should be sent directly to XTM Cloud, or we can extract it on FTP before creating the project. In case we are using the folder structure of the packages, which allows us to inherit different XTM customers, project templates etc., from its structure, extracting the package before it is be moved to XTM Cloud is the best way to proceed.
How often XTM Bridge is checking the folders on FTP, to determine that new files arrived?
In the connector configuration, we can determine the waiting time between the loops of checking FTP, creating projects and their statuses, which means that if, for example, projects creation from one iteration takes 1 minute, the time between the loops will be 1 minute plus the set waiting time. By default, the waiting time is set to 1 minute.
Why do target files arrive in separate folders with language codes?
This depends on the connector’s configuration, where we can determine if the target files should be placed under the sub-folders with language code, or if we should omit them.
