Introduction

Sometimes you might unintentionally delete some projects and project-related TM from the XTM Cloud UI. Most probably, you might use the Delete project and project TM option on a wrong project, from the project’s context menu (Projects → Project list → Simple search → project’s context menu → Actions → Delete project and project TM).

In this case, it is possible to restore both deleted projects as well as its TM by the XTM International Support team. However, there are some restrictions to that.

Specifics

Restoring a deleted project

A project that was deleted in XTM Cloud can be restored in the UI only within 7 days after the project’s deletion. Once 7 days have passed, the project files are removed from the server irrevocably and the projects in question can no longer be restored.

Though it can vary from server to server, this time frame is usually 7 days. Contact the XTM International Support team to learn what it looks like on your XTM instance.

IMPORTANT!

Note the distinction between deleted and archived projects, since the process for restoring them on the back-end side of your XTM instance looks completely different.

To learn more about activation of archived projects, see the following article: Project activation – most common issues & troubleshooting.

For this purpose, contact the XTM International Support team and provide a list of XTM projects' names that you would like to be restored.

Restoring deleted Translation memory (TM)

Contrary to XTM projects, TM can be restored even after 7 days, as it is stored in the database, not as a part of the project files. For this purpose, contact the XTM International Support team and provide a list of XTM projects' names for which you would like to retrieve TM.
