Introduction
XTM Cloud offers uploading the so-called Reference material both to XTM customers and XTM projects. In general, Reference files are usually just style guidelines for how to work with a particular XTM customer
or detailed descriptions of XTM projects
.
This article aims at showing how to properly upload Reference material in XTM Cloud as well as where to download them later on.
Instructions
XTM customers
In XTM Cloud, you can upload customer-specific reference files.
To do so, go to Customers → Customer list. Next, select a relevant customer.
Go to the Edit tab and to the Reference material section. Upload your files in the Select files to upload option. Do not forget to Save the changes.
This is also the only place within the XTM customer settings where you can download previously uploaded Reference material, by clicking on the context menu of a particular Reference file and clicking Download.
XTM project
In the case of XTM projects, there are actually a couple of places where you can upload Reference material:
First of all, you can upload Reference files at the project creation stage, in the Translation section, by means of the Reference material option.
Once the project is created in XTM Cloud, you can upload Reference material in the Project Editor. Go to General info → Reference material, and upload it in the Select files to upload option. Additionally, as in the case of the XTM customer, you can also download previously uploaded Reference material, by clicking on the context menu of a particular Reference file and clicking Download.
Another place where you can download Reference files is at the language level in Project Editor → Workflow. Just open the context menu for a particular target language and select Download reference material from the dropdown.
Reference material can also be downloaded at the level of a single source file (Project Editor → Workflow). Open the context menu for a particular source and select Download reference material from the dropdown.
Another place for downloading Reference material is in Project Editor → Files → Reference materials. Simply click on the button.
Staying in the Files section, Reference files can also be obtained from the context menu of the All files section.
Finally, still staying in the Files section, Reference files can be obtained from the context menu of an individual source file.
IMPORTANT!
Keep in mind that in all cases of downloading Reference material for an XTM project the package contains files from BOTH the XTM project itself and the XTM customer under which the XTM project in question has been created.
Therefore, the package contains two sub-folders:
customer reference material,
project reference material.
