Client Portal 2.0 configuration guides

Client Portal 2.0 configuration guides

Introduction

Enabling Client Portal 2.0 will disable the previous Client Portal automatically. That means any customization settings made in the previous Client Portal will be lost, and branding options will be set to the default values for Client Portal 2.0. However, data sourced from the Home Portal will not be lost.

We recommend testing the Client Portal 2.0 on the test instances before activating it on the production instances.

Client Portal 2.0 offers the following benefits to its users:

  • An intuitive user interface, similar to our Home and Vendor Portals.

  • Better project status and request history tracking.

  • Detailed quote and project displays.

  • Improved feedback functionality.

For you, it offers better control over the functionality you want to present to your clients. In the Home Portal, you can do the following:

Access the Client Portal 2.0 as a user

To check what the Client Portal 2.0 looks like, which functionalities and options will be available to its users, and ensure the changes you make in the Home Portal will be displayed properly, you can access the Client Portal 2.0 as a user. To do so, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a dummy client in the Home Portal (for details, see the https://xtm-cloud.atlassian.net/wiki/x/h9XbwQ guide).

  2. Give this client access to the Client Portal (for details, see https://help.xtm.cloud/xtrf/home-portal/modules/en/system-accounts-subtab--clients-.html).

  3. Log in to the Client Portal 2.0 as a dummy client.

Alternatively, you can log in to the Client Portal 2.0 by selecting the Sign in as this Partner button in the client profile → Main Data tab → System Account subtab.

The Sign in as this Partner button is only displayed for users who have access rights to Client Portals. To assign those rights, Home Portal administrators need to select the Sign in as Partner checkbox for the relevant user group in the Configuration menu → User Management → User Groups and Rights section. For details about managing user group rights, see the Add a new user group guide.
