Git: How to make Updated Translation in XTM Cloud return to Repository

Git: How to make Updated Translation in XTM Cloud return to Repository

Introduction

Consider the following workflow:

  1. You create a project in XTM Cloud by sending the content from the repository.

  2. The project is translated and finished.

  3. The translation is then delivered back to the repository via API.

  4. The translation is reviewed internally.

  5. Finally, you spot some translation issues and you ask the Linguist to make relevant corrections to the finished XTM Cloud project. However, you cannot seem get new updates to repository since the the project was already finished.

Question:

How can I make updated translation in XTM Cloud return to the repository?

Solutions

Finishing the project again WILL NOT ALLOW you to receive the corrected translation back.

Below are two possible solutions:

New project (recommended)

Update the source content that you would like to correct with a blank character such as space or a new line in your repository and create a new project in XTM Cloud. There you can provide the requested changes and subsequently finish the project to receive your updated translation back.

Continuous project

Another solution is to use continuous project. However, it will only partially solve the problem: once you update the source file, the file in question will be taken for translation again, however, instead of a new project being created, the file will flow to your latest existing project, including finished ones.

To request configuration of a continuous project, contact XTM Support.

You can use continuous projects to update the files within an existing, active project, instead of creating a new project every time a file within your repository is updated with new content.

If the project set as a continuous project has been deactivated, XTM Connect – Git will try to reactivate the archived project.
