AEM: How to troubleshoot the issue that new XTM Cloud customers and project templates are not displayed in the CMS configuration
Introduction
Sometimes you might be wondering why customers and/or project templates that have just been created in XTM Cloud are not immediately displayed in the AEM CMS configuration, in the XTM Translation Connector Settings → General tab.
For example, let’s say you have created a new XTM Cloud customer called Documentation but it has not appeared on the AEM side straightaway.
So what is the reason?
Troubleshooting
Theoretically, there might be several reasons behind this issue, but the most probable is pretty easy to pinpoint. To do so, take the steps below:
First of all, you should take a look at the XTM Cloud user that has been used to establish the connection between XTM Cloud and the AEM CMS. For this purpose, in XTM Cloud, go to Users → User list → (select a user) → Access rights → Customers.
In this section, it might be the case that your user only has access to a couple of XTM Cloud customers, and they might not necessarily the one that you have just created. To change this, make sure you add your new customer to the user’s scope. Do not forget to save the changes afterwards.
The same applies for XTM Cloud project templates that might be assigned to this very newly-created customer [Projects → Templates → (select the relevant project template) → General info → Customer], and so are not displayed on the AEM side. Once the relevant customer has been added to the user’s scope, project templates for that customer will be available in the AEM CMS as well.
Finally, go back to the AEM CMS and refresh the XTM connection (click Connect to XTM Cloud), so that the new XTM Cloud customer can be fetched, along with its project templates.
