Locale: Creating a Locale project with the Magento Connector

What you will need to get started

  1. The Login link for Locale.

  2. The admin login information for Magento with access to read and write system integrations, and store configurations.

    1. Note: If you do not possess the correct credentials to access this information, please contact your system administrator or your Magento representative. Locale does not have access to this nor do we provide this information.

  3. User login information for both your Locale instance, and your Magento instance

    1. A trial account of Locale can also be taken for free by going to locale.to and selecting the “Get Started” button.


Supported resources and configurations

At the time of this publication (January 2024) the Magento Connector supports the following resources and properties:

  • Products.

Properties:

  • Descriptions,

  • Short descriptions,

  • Meta descriptions,

  • Meta keywords,

  • Meta titles.


Creating a Locale project with the Magento Connector

Once you have followed the steps above to configure the Magento connector, you are ready to create a project.

  1. Start by entering the source and target languages for your instance and selecting Add Project.

    1. Make sure to use the correct Language variants when creating your project.

  1. Locale will automatically calculate the number of words which need to be translated for your project.

  1. Your content can then be pushed for translation.

  1. And show the status In Progress.

  1. Once the translation step has been completed, the status will update to Complete in Locale.

  1. And the content will be delivered into your Magento instance.
