How to add an LSP in XTM Cloud

@Damian Rozmiarkowski Nov 25, 2026

Introduction

XTM Cloud provides a way for organizations to work with what are known as LSPs (Language Service Provider) – third-party companies that have their own XTM Cloud instances which are connected to the Contractor's account and from which they receive translation projects.

This article describes the process for adding an LSP, in the XTM Cloud UI.

Before you read this article, make sure you have a good understanding of Subcontractor rights and restrictions, described in this article: What can the LSP do or not do in a subcontracted project!

Instructions

Enabling subcontracting

First of all, you need to enable subcontracting in your XTM Cloud instance. To do so, select Configuration → Settings → System → General → System. Then select the Enable subcontracting checkbox (administrative privileges required!). Do not forget to save the changes.

Creating an LSP

  1. Go to Users → LSPs and click Add LSP.

  1. In the General information section, enter the LSP’s:

  • Company name,

  • First name and Last name of their contact person,

  • The contact person’s Email address.

  • (Optional) The name of the Project Manager who will be managing projects if this LSP acts as a Contractor.

  1. Save the changes at the bottom of the form.

  1. At this point, a new LSP is created in XTM Cloud. However, it is still inactive since no connection has been established yet. You now need to edit the relevant LSP's details in the LSP Editor.

Establishing a connection

Enter the LSP EditorGeneral tab. Configure the following options:

  1. In the LSP type section, decide on the relationship between your account and your LSP’s.

  1. In the Licenses section, decide on the number of licenses allocated to this LSP, if the LSP will act as your subcontractor.

  1. In the Connection information from the LSP section, enter the following mandatory details, which you should obtain from your LSP:

  • LSP's XTM server address.

  • Company login name.

  • LSP ID.

  • Password.

  1. The following details from the Your connection information to send to the LSP section also need to be provided to your LSP:

  • LSP's XTM server address.

  • Company login name.

  • LSP ID.

  • Password.

You can send over the connection details quickly via email. To do so, click the Send e-mail button at the bottom of the page.

  1. Finally, to establish a connection, click Save. The LSP will have to do the same on their side. Once both sides save the changes, a two-way LSP connection will be established.

  1. That is it! You can now assign the LSP seamlessly, in your XTM Cloud projects, and/or receive tasks from them.

Filling out other LSP details

Regardless of whether you have established an LSP connection or not, you can configure other LSP details, such as language combinations (in the Language tab screen), rate cards (in the Rate cards tab screen – see How to create a rate card for a Linguist), and access rights (in the Access rights tab screen).
