How to insert text in the target segment from a new line, in XTM Workbench
Introduction
You might be wondering if there is any way you can insert your translation from a new line within a single target segment in XTM Workbench. XTM Cloud offers this option.
Instructions
To insert text from a new line, take the following steps:
In XTM Workbench, select Settings → Shortcuts.
Type insert newline in the search bar. The option concerned is located in the Translation/Target section. The section will expand automatically, and you will be able to set a keystroke combination for the Insert newline action. Click on Set shortcut.
Type your keystroke combination in.
To confirm it, select OK.
To finish, select Apply and then Save to save your changes.
From now on, you will be able to insert a new line in the target segment by performing the keystroke combination you have set for the Insert newline option, Shortcuts settings.
If you only insert new lines occastionally, you do not necessarily have to set a shortcut for doing so. Instead, follow these steps:
In XTM Workbench, expand the More section, and select Insert inline tag or special character (Alt + 0) from the dropdown.
Select the newline option to perform one-off insertion of a new line in the target segment.
