Introduction
When you are working on a specific project in XTM Cloud, you might sometimes realize that you are trying to edit the translation in the Review workflow step, although the purpose of that workflow step is slightly different from editing. The purpose of this article is to describe the Review step in its entirety.
What you can do and not do in the Review step
General information
In general, as the name of this workflow step suggests, the Review workflow step is primarily for reviewing a translation. The review is performed after the translation has been produced (usually in the Translate step), and then corrected (usually in the Correct step), by adding comments to it in relevant segments in XTM Workbench. Therefore, the difference between the Review workflow step and the other project workflow steps is that users can (primarily) enter comments about translations in the Review workflow step, but they cannot edit the translation in any way.
Below, you will find details about what can and cannot be done in the Review step.
What can you do?
In the Review workflow step you can:
add comments for a particular segment in XTM Workbench:
run all kinds of Quality Assurance (QA) checks by selecting them from the QA dropdown in XTM Workbench:
use XTM Workbench filters:
change a segment’s status in XTM Workbench.
What can you not do?
In the Review workflow step you cannot:
edit segments content in any way in XTM Workbench:
import XLIFF files to this workflow step within the framework of offline translation (for more information see How to translate offline (use of XLIFF files)). If you try to upload an XLIFF file, none of the work performed offline will be displayed in the Review step:
merge two or more segments in XTM Workbench:
use the full Find and replace feature in XTM Workbench.
