Issue description & Solution
Languages are not displayed in the align
...
dropdown
XTM Cloud displays a wide range of languages that you can choose from. Please, keep Keep in mind that not all the languages which that are available in XTM Cloud are also available in the aligning process.
Solution: Before attempting to align files, please, make sure that the languages you want to use in the aligning process are indeed available in their respective Source language and Target language drop-downs dropdowns in the Align form.
Alignment failed for some files/languages
There might be plenty of many reasons why the alignment might have failed - , from the server malfunction to the a problem with the source files themselves. For example, the alignment will fail if the analysis of the input files cannot be performed properly performed. This might be caused by the situations when in which the file is improperly not structured correctly (e.g. missing nodes) or because of the improperly working filter for a given particular file format does not work correctly.
Solution: In order to commence troubleshooting on your side To begin troubleshooting yourself, you can always perform the following these steps to confirm if the case above one is the caseapplies:
Create a sample project using the files used for alignment.
Check if the analysis was successful.
If not, please, raise create a support ticket to for the XTM International Support team and provide details on about the issue.
Upload limit
Please note that Note that, by default, the standard alignment file upload size for any XTM Cloud server is set by default to 150MB, separately for the source and target file. If you exceed this limit, you will receive the a JSON 500 error message with will be displayed, and also an additional UI message about the failed align.
Solution: In order to To bypass this limitation, please try the following:
Zip your files and attempt to re- upload them again.
If the above this solution is still not yielding yield any results, please, attempt to portion group your files and upload them in a succession. A good way to reduce the total size of your files ' overall size is to remove any instances of repeated segments.
The difference in files

volume
Aligning, as the name suggests, is a matching the process of matching a source segment to a target segment. Therefore, if there is a big difference in the number of segments between two files, aligning will fail.
Solution: A good way to measure how many segments a given particular file has contains is to create a test project in XTM Cloud for each file and then to compare what is displayed either in the Workflow or this project's Workflow and Metrics section of this project.
Aligning files takes too much time
Solution: There are two possible causes for such an issue:
Your file is waiting in the alignment queue and waiting for other another company's file to finish aligning. In such a case, we kindly ask for extra patiencerequest that you give us a little time to perform the necessary actions.
You have chosen a given particular language combination to align for the first time. It means that the system has to generate a proper suitable dictionary before the process can be started. When aligning for that specific language combination for the second time, the dictionary is then reused, thus shortening the overall process.
The dictionaries might be missing for some unpopular less frequently used language combinations that are being executed in aligned for the aligning process first time round.

Each combination requires a dictionary, but they the language combinations are working in both ways; so, for example, the English (USA) → Polish alignment will use the same dictionary as Polish → Polish → English (USA) alignment. Furthermore, the dictionaries are not distinguished between language variationsthe same for language variants, so English (USA) and English (UK) will use the same dictionary. |
